Coming into contact with Cathy has become a true blessing for us. After trying to conceive on our own for several years, and upon receiving a disheartening diagnosis, we decided the right path for building our family would be through adoption. We didn’t know where to start, and the options were absolutely mind-boggling, but through a series of events, we found Cathy Mantell and Adoption Consultants, Inc.
After viewing Cathy’s website and having a very long initial conversation with her, Jason and I knew instinctively this was the right fit for us! Cathy was so kind and informative; she answered the many, many questions Jason and I had. We felt very comfortable in trusting Cathy with the future of our family! As a matter of fact, not only did we decide to contract with Cathy, our cousins also decided to contract with Cathy the same month we did!
Just a few months after contracting with Cathy, we received the telephone call that put us in disbelief. Cathy excitedly informed us of a birthmother who chose us to be the adoptive parents of her baby! It was the best telephone call we had ever received!!! We knew during the conversation with Cathy this was the perfect fit for us. We excitedly were wondering if this was all really happening or was it a dream.
God matched us with the perfect birthmother! We kept in contact with her through e-mail over the course of the next few months, and she kept us updated about the pregnancy and how all was going. She decided not to meet us until we arrived for the baby’s birth at the hospital. She even sent us our daughter’s ultrasound photos through Cathy. They were the first glimpse of the new little life we would be welcoming!
Because we chose to finalize our adoption in our state, Cathy helped us to get an attorney involved in our state. She also helped us get a social worker in California on board to meet with our birthmother. Cathy also helped coordinate between the attorney and agency what needed to be done and stayed on top of it all to ensure no steps were missed and everything proceeded smoothly. She was always calling us and e-mailing us with the latest updates.
We found out about our precious daughter at the end of September, and on December 1st, 2006, our beautiful daughter was born, one of the happiest days of our life together! When our birthmother was admitted, Cathy contacted the hospital social worker to be sure the staff were aware of our adoption plan. We were blessed that our birthmother even asked me to be in the delivery room when Claire was born… what a beautiful experience. During our birthmother’s hospital stay, we spent much time with her and really connected. We truly believe she is the most loving and giving person we have ever met, one of God’s angels! This perfect and beautiful girl completed the family we had waited so long to have. During our birthmother’s hospital stay, Cathy continued to remain in touch with the hospital, with us and with our birthmother to be sure all was continuing to go well. She also helped coordinate the social worker coming to the hospital with legal documents and made sure to keep our attorney advised. After our daughter’s birth, Cathy came to the hospital with gifts and we all got to visit and took lots of photos that we still treasure today! Only six days after Claire Elizabeth arrived, we flew home to our families and friends who were anxiously awaiting our arrival at the airport. What an experience!!! We were now able to start our lives as a new family! Our cousins had also successfully adopted through Cathy just a few months after contracting on, and their baby had come home 1 month before we arrived home with Claire! We were actually matched a month apart and our babies were born 1 month apart! It’s so great watching them grow up together so close in age, and it’s particularly special that they were both adopted through Cathy and Adoption Consultants, Inc.!)
We are blessed to still be in contact with our birthmother with e-mail updates. We love sending her funny photos of Claire, who is now sixteen months old. She reminds us every single day of the blessing of parenthood! Ours is just one of many happy endings Cathy has witnessed.
We can honestly say, Cathy is the consummate professional, but very personable and friendly at the same time. We always felt invited to contact her any day, any time, with any questions we might have. God works miracles for so many families through Cathy. Not only did she take the time to visit us in the hospital when Claire was born, but she has corresponded several times with us since Claire has been home with e-mails and phone calls on occasion! Cathy helped us not only with the match of our birth mother, but also remained on top of all the many legal aspects and technicalities involved with the confusing maze of adoption, which really helped relieve a lot of stress. Cathy’s attention to detail was wonderful. We knew if something needed attending to, Cathy would see to it that it was taken care of. We always knew we were in excellent and well qualified hands.
We are so happy we found Cathy, and we thank God every single day for the many gifts He’s blessed us with. We can’t imagine going through the adoption process any other way than with Cathy and Adoption Consultants, Inc.! We were thrilled with our placement and our experience working with Cathy. She was fantastic to work with, and our cousins were equally thrilled. We would whole heartedly recommend using Cathy and Adoption Consultants, Inc. to anyone wanting to adopt.
